A little training can go a long way and have a noticeable impact on your bottom line. Volunteers need help and assistance if they are to remain happy, enthusiastic and focused. A great way to do this is to train them or at least offer it to them. The training may be simply on the basics of good fundraising like always be well presented, polite and always say 'thank you' no matter what the reply from the public. A volunteer with a prepared sales pitch is always going to be more confident than one without such an asset and a confident worker will always be more successful. A volunteer that is knowledgeable about their organisation, cause and fundraiser will appear more confident and therefore more acceptable than a volunteer that mumbles and appears lost as to what they represent and what they are about. Which would you be more likely to support? Training does not have to be formal nor time consuming but a little can go a long way and none of it is ever wasted.
