Fundraising Idea of the Month:
by Doug Nash

|
What is the best way a non-profit group can spend it's time and effort at any time of the year? Whether or not you have one last fundraiser to go or you are enjoying spending the funds you have worked so hard to raise - one of the most valuable activities you can now invest your energies in - planning for next year. Successful fundraising does not happen by accident. Now is the time to start evaluating what worked and what didn't during the year. Good planning takes time and effort. Putting your precious time into fundraising isn't enough; you need to make sure that everyone involved reaps maximum returns for their efforts. Do your market research; if it's a must for major corporations then it's a must for you! Ask around and get feedback. Your visit to this web site is market research. If you listen closely when someone talks to you about a fundraiser - that's market research! It doesn't cost you anything but time and the rewards can be enormous! Write down what people tell you, it makes reviewing a lot easier and more accurate later on. Have a reporting system in place to record such details after each and every fundraiser. This way evaluating and better planning becomes a habit - a habit shared by all fundraisers that are successful over a long period of time. About the Author: Doug Nash lives in Logan City in Queensland, Australia. He has graciously consented to share a fundraising idea with us every month. Although many of the ideas aren't new, each of them has a unique flair that comes from being developed and refined half a world away from ours.
