Fundraising Idea of the Month:
Parallel Aims
by Doug Nash
A basic aim of all fundraisers is to match their fundraisers to the needs of their members and clientele. By this I mean have a look at what these groups are doing and see if there is a fundraiser there that you can make the most of. Do it properly and not only will you have a successful fundraiser you will be thanked for be so thoughtful.
Christmas is just around the corner so think about what people buy around this time of year. They buy presents and they have to wrap them. So can you offer a fundraiser that can solve either of these problems? As people are spending money in this area why should they not support your cause while buying gifts or buying wrapping paper. A paper drive instead of a chocolate or pie drive will give your fundraiser a welcome change and this can be very much appreciated.
There are professional fundraising companies that can offer shopper programs, candles, wrapping paper and other options that you can give members and clients choices that help them as well as your organisation raise funds.
